Haider Ali is a couplet of Aatish, used to listen to the great noise of the heart in the side, when the incision was made, not a single drop of blood came out. Something similar happened with Vikas Bahl's new attempt to scare the Hindi cinema audience with the film 'Shaitan'. These days, if Vikas Bahl's name is associated with the direction or creation of a film or series, the audience remains scared.
Yet the subject of 'Satan' seems to capture the psychology of attraction towards fear. Madhavan coming on screen as a villain for the first time in Hindi cinema (he has become a villain in Telugu) also has a different kind of attraction. Black magic and Vashikaran are present in the folk tales of the country since the time of Sanatan Dharma.
In villages, even today, when a child cries a lot, has a grumbling stomach or has a high fever, the mother takes her eyes off the Raylon and mutters a mantra in which the name of Lona, the country's greatest magician, is mentioned. Along with this, there is also a word indicating caste, which also shows that there is a tradition since ages of giving social respect to every caste as per the use of social caste system.
Well, let's talk about the film 'Shaitan'. This is a very bad film made on a very good, interesting and interesting subject. It is possible that after reading this line, you may not be interested in reading this review further, but here it is important to understand why Hindi cinema is not getting new subjects for horror films and when subjects are being 'purchased' from films made in other languages.
are also taken, then where does Hindi cinema lose in their Hindi adaptations? Let me start with a very basic thing. When Hindi films start, after the mention of all the famous people, the name of the film appears on the screen. First in English, then in Hindi and sometimes even in Urdu, the name of the film was written across the screen. By removing just one language from the screen, Hindi cinema has distanced itself from about 30 percent of its audience.
Now comes the name of the film and the premise of the film. The mere name of the film 'Shaitan' is enough to attract a special audience to the theatres. On top of that, Madhavan is the villain and a teenage girl looks terrified in the trailer, then the work is almost done. But, the first mistake of this film was the language of its teaser. The teaser, made by mixing unnecessary words like Maggi with forceful radif and kaafiya, gave a fake feeling to the audience.
A large number of horror film lovers have been among the Hindi film audience since ages. Many must have had a desire to see the film 'Shaitan', this hope was first broken by the teaser, then even though the trailer gave some hope, two scenes of the film completely shattered it. By now everyone knows what the story of the film is. There is a teenage girl who comes under his control after eating laddus from a stranger she met on the way, there is a family trapped in a farm house away from the city and there is a devil who wants to take control of the universe. The story is happening in Uttarakhand. Not a single character in the film seems to speak Kumaoni.
